Assam Rifles celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Company Operating Base Mayang Imphal under command Tulihal Battalion of9 Sector Assam Rifles which is under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a poster making competition on the occasion of the 5th National Unity Day at Khuman High School, Khuman Maheikol today.
The National Unity Day was first instituted and celebrated in 2014 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
This year, on his 143rd birth anniversary, students of Khuman High School were educated on realizing their role in National integrity which is important to counter threats to National unity and security.
Students from Class V to VIII took part in the competition with great interest.
The young minds came up with brilliant ideas for the theme.
Post the event, students explained their ideas individually to the jury.
The best posters were awarded and sweets were distributed amongst the students.
The participating students were motivated with a felicitation ceremony followed by tea and refreshments.
A pledge was taken by the students and school staff to follow the, path shown by Sardar Vallabhai Patel for unity of the country with brotherhood and peace.
