'25, 000 toilets to be constructed in Ccpur under Swachh Bharat Mission'

The 30-day long sensitization programme on Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission) organized jointly by GSF; LDO and Rudra under the sponsorship of District Water & Sanitation Committee, Churachandpur District at District Training Centre Churachandpur concluded yesterday.
The valedictory function was graced by Lunminthang Haokip, DC Churachandpur who is also the Chairman of District Water & Sanitation Committee, Churachandpur District and L Swamikanta, Director of Communication & Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) as chief guest and president respectively while H Bigadhan, Superintending Engineer of Rural Circle 1, PHED and Th Baite, Executive Engineer, Churachandpur PHE Division attended as guests of honor.
Addressing the gathering, L Swamikanta announced that around 25, 000 toilets would be constructed in Churachandpur district at free of cost under Clean India Campaign while elaborating that each toilet would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 12, 000.The Central Government will bear Rs 10, 800 while the remaining amount ie Rs 1, 200 will be borne by the State Government, he added.
Saying that role of church leaders in developing villages is of paramount importance, he appealed to church leaders of villages in the district to take active participation in constructing the toilets in every household under the ambitious campaign.
He noted that the three entities information, education and communication are needed to execute any major work successfully.
