Imphal, September 30 2020: Uyumpok Nongsum Lamboikhul Water User Committee Yumnam Khunou, Eshingthenbi, Sambei Water User Committee drew the attention of the State Government to provide irrigation facilities assured from Dolaithabi Barrage at the earliest.

Speaking to media persons, members of the committee expressed disappointment to the State Government for not converting their assurance to action till date.

Members of the Uyumpok Nongsum Lamboikhul Water User Committee stated that the left barrage of the barrage was supposed to supply irrigation water up to farmland in Sekta, but the water reverts from Uyumpok Mamang Leikai.

Yumnam Khunou, Eshingthenbi, Sambei (YES) Water User Committee president Heikham Ngouba people from Khundrakpm Kendra are yet to benefit from the Dolaithabi Barrage, despite tall promises.

And on the right canal, instead of supplying, water from Ishingthenbi side is flowing toward the barrage, he added.

He further appealed to the State Government to complete the repairing works of the right canal in between Khundrakpam and Chingkhu at the earliest.
