Imphal, March 31 2020: Altogether 71 individuals were detained by Bishnupur district police today for violating curfew/lockdown imposed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a source, the drive against such violators was taken up under the supervision of the Bishnupur SP, and altogether 71 individuals and 36 vehicles were detained at different parts of the district during the drive.

The individuals were produced before the concerned SDM and a fine of Rs 9100 was collected from the violators.

Informing that the district police will intensify its drive, the source appealed to the public to refrain from venturing out unnecessarily.
