Imphal, January 31 2022: Shiv Sena today released its first list of six candidates who would contest the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.

Shiv Sena North East observer Dilip Panicker released the first list today and it includes Thangjam Shyam (Khundrakpam), Khaidam Ranjit (Sekmai), Moirangthem Tomtomsana (Heirok), Ninghor Jojo (Phungyar), Ramining Jhojo (Saikul) and Lalhlungsng Sungte (Thalon) .

Dilip Panicker said all the candidates named today have already submitted documents to the relevant authorities declaring that they were not involved in any criminal activity.

He said that the second list candidates would be released in the next couple of days.

Shiv Sena State unit president M Tombi has, meanwhile, appealed to all the candidates and political parties to contest the election by strictly adhering to the Covid SOP.

If the candidates fielded by Shiv Sena are elected, the party would make all efforts to restore the boundary of Manipur, improve road infrastructure and enact a long term education policy, Tombi said.
