Thoubal, December 31 2019: Association for Paona Memorial Arts and Rural Development Services (APMARDS) has felicitated 12 persons from the State who were conferred different awards by Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, Delhi at the 35th National Conference of Dalit Writers-2019 on December 8 and 9, this month at Panchsheel Ashram, Delhi.

The felicitation programme held at APMARDS's hall at Wangkhem, Thoubal was attended by Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang Ta Cultural Association, Irilbung director, K Shanathoibi Sharma (Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee) as chief guest; APMARDS president W Muhindro as functional president and Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, Delhi National Secretary, Y Mahendra as guest of honour.

The awardees who were encouraged are S Birjit Mangang from Mongsangei (Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award); K Hemchandra Sharma from Yairipok Wangkhem (Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Fellowship National Award); Kh Mani Meitei from Kakching Khunou (Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award); W Hemanta from Thoubal Wangmataba (Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award); Y Ibochou from Hiyanglam (Babu Jaga Jiban Ram Kala Sanskriti Sahitya Akademi Award and Dr Ambedkar National Award); K Pramodini from Khekman (Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award); A Rishikanta Sharma from Thoubal Ningombam (Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award); S Kunjomacha from Kongba Kshetri Leikai (Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Fellowship National Award); S Lukhoi from Wangbal (Bhawan Budha Fellowship National Award); W Sanajaoba from Phoudel Keirambi (Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award) and Heikham Chaoba Devi from Wangjing (Dr Ambedkar Fellowship National Award) .
