Imphal, July 30 2022:
All Manipur Individual Surrender Welfare Association spokesperson Abdul Latif has urged the central and state governments to provide appropriate jobs to surrenderees, as per the provisions mentioned in the Surrender Policy, based on which they had laid down arms.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club here on Saturday, Abdul urged the government to take serious note of the issues faced by those who have surrendered and discuss the same in ongoing session of the Assembly.
Although it has been claimed that many polices are in place for the surrendered people, no action has been taken up for the welfare
of the 680 people who have surrendered to the government till date.
In addition to verbal requests, memorandums have been submitted to the CM repeatedly, but no positive response has been given so far.
Thus, he urged the government to take serious note of the difficulties faced by the surrenderees.
