Memorial stone unveiled

Bishnupur, December 29 2024: Four memorial stones dedicated to the 4 martyrs, who were killed by Kuki militants while collecting firewoods at Wangoo Sabal Maning Meichakpi hills on January 10, 2024 were unveiled today at their resting place in Wangoo Sabal Maning Meichakpi hills today.

The memorial stones dedicated to Ahanthem Dara, Oinam Romen, Thoudam Ibomcha and Thoudam Anand were constructed under the initiative of Peace Committee Kangleipak Manipur Special 50 .

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Kumbi AC MLA, S Premchandra, PCKM advisor, Ningthemcha Sanayaima, PCKM secretary, Rajesh Meitei, family members of the martyrs, members of PCKM and various people.

Floral tributes were paid on the memorial stone of the martyrs by the attendees.

Speaking on the occasion, Ningthemcha Sanayaima stated that the memorial stones were constructed by Peace Committee Kangleipak Manipur with support from Thawai Mirel, Hingminashi and Volunteers Welfare Fund at the resting place of the martyrs.

After unveiling similar memorial stones dedicated to other martyrs at Phougakchao Ikhai, the memorial stones of the four martyrs were unveiled today at Akasoi.

He added that they will continue to unveil the remaining monuments at Ningthoukhong and Nongsum in memory of the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives during the ongoing conflict in the State.
