Imphal, December 29 2013:
Underlining the need to minimize the gap between the leaders and workers, President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has appealed to all Ministers and MLAs of Congress Party to visit the party office at least once in a week to interact with the party workers.
He was speaking during the 90th Seva Dal Day organized by Manipur Pradesh Congress Seva Dal at Congress Bhavan here today.
Gaikhangam further said that the Congress leaders in the Government should not have any indifference towards the party workers.
They must ensure their active participation in all party functions.
Even the Chief Minister attends the party functions and interacts with the workers regularly despite his hectic schedule.
So, it would be unreasonable on the part of other Ministers and MLAs to avoid attending party functions on the pretext of their official works and tours, the Deputy CM noted.

He also requested the Ministers and MLAs to inform the office of BCC or MPCC about their tour programmes so that there is no misunderstanding or communication gap between the party leaders and workers.
Gaikhangam further maintained that Seva Dal is one of the most important frontal organizations of the Congress Party.
Manipur Congress Seva Dal has been working relentlessly for the welfare of the party and people of the state, the Deputy CM asserted.
The Seva Dal Day was also attended by Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, AICC Secretary Dr Vijayalakshmi Sadho, MP of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dr T Meinya and other functionaries of MPCC.
The 150th birth anniversary of Bir Tikendrajit was also observed by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee alongside the Seva Dal Day.
