Thoubal, September 29 2024: Dr Pratita Charitable Hospital and Research Institute at Khongjom celebrated one year of its existence today.

Churachandpur Medical College Director Prof Soubam Iboyaima Singh, Dr Pratita Charitable Trust chairman and exMinister Moirangthem Hemanta, ex-members of Gram Panchayats of Wangjing-Tentha AC and retired CEO, MK&VIB L Biren Singh attended the foundation day observance.

As a part of the event, the gathering observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect for people martyred in the conflict between Meiteis and Kukis.

Doctors and staff of the institute were honoured with different awards at the event.

Speaking on the occasion.

Dr Pratita Charitable Trust Chairman and ex-Minister Moirangthem Hemanta said the hospital was instituted with the aim to provide affordable medical care to the people.

In the coming years, the hospital would have a paramedical college and a pharmacy which would provide subsidised medicines to people, he said.
