Combined annual training programme of NCC Group starts

The Combined Annual Training camp conducted by 65 Manipur Girls (I) Company NCC Group HQ Imphal has commenced from July 26 and it will continue for ten days till August 4 .
About 400 girls' cadets from all over the State are participating in the training camp being held at NCC Group Headquarters Imphal, DM College Campus, said a statement of IGAR (South) today.
The NCC Cadets are engaged in various educational and society welfare programmes such as Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan, awareness programmes on ill effects of drugs and AIDS, anti-malaria drive, women empowerment, voluntary blood donation camps etc.
The cadets have also assisted and will continue to assist traffic police in major events in the State.
The camp will groom the cadets for all India NCC competitions.
Debates and other activities are being held at the camp to improve their communication skills.
Trekking and adventure activities are also planned for the cadets during the camp.
Lt Col S N Thakur, Officer Commanding, 65 Manipur Girls (I) Company NCC, Imphal is Camp Commandant.
The camp is being assisted by HQ IGAR (South) and its units.
A lecture was conducted to educate the cadets on the issues of personal hygiene and sensitive issue of child trafficking.
The cadets have been carrying out various cleanliness drive in and around Imphal City.
Brigadier Vivek Sharma, VSM, Group Commander, Imphal is actively encouraging the cadets and supervising the training and administrative arrangements, said the statement.
