Serou Bridge to be completed by year end

Imphal, June 29 2011:
Inspecting the process of the construction of Serou Bridge built over the Chakpi River, Works Minister K Ranjit today assured that the construction of the bridge will be completed soon and it will be inaugurated in November this year.
Ranjit expressed satisfaction on the fast progress of the construction work.
He said that the construction of the bridge commenced in 2007 with a sanction of ' 19 crores under the SPA.
The bridge will be the longest bridge in the state.
Due to delays the total cost of the bridge shot up to ' 25 crores.
The bridge will serve the people from New Somtal to Serou.
The Minister also attended a prize distribution for meritorious students who passed the HSLCE and HSSLCE 2011 in first division organised by the Development Committee Sugnu at Ching-Tam Community Hall, Sugnu as chief guest.
