Imphal, December 28 2016: The District Library cum Youth Centre (DLCYC), Thoubal Athokpam today organised a three-day training programme on mushroom cultivation at United Youth Sporting Club, Langmeidong Mamang Leikai.

Altogether 22 women are participating in the training programme.

Ch Basanta Singh, former District Project Officer, NYK, Thoubal highlighted the importance of mushroom cultivation and its benefits.

Wide scale cultivation of mushroom can help the growers in generating sustainable income and will definitely solve in reducing the problems of unemployment.

Vocational training programmes will be also organised in different parts of Thoubal and Kakching district till March, 2017 .
