Imphal, July 28 2020:
With the surge in the number of COVID-19 positive cases, the State Government has imposed a complete lockdown/curfew following which all the shops and establishments remain closed except for pharmacies.
Only few vehicles of essential services were seen plying on the road.
Police conduct checking at almost every corner.
People who came out without valid reason were detained and made to fine.
Police are also guarding the places that are declared as containment zones.
Vegetable vendors are no longer seen even inside the locality due to the strict imposition of the lockdown.
Some few shops located inside the street corners were seen open however they were also made to close by the police patrol van.
Some shops in the locality taking advantage of the lockdown sell goods at higher prices.
As almost every place in the State now has a positive case, people voluntarily follow the lockdown.
Only few oil pumps which are assigned to sell petrol and diesel for essential services are opened following the Government's instruction.
