Demand for regularisation of NHM staff resumes, Senapati staff organise sit in

Demanding regularization of the NHM workers, under National Health Mission, NHM staffs of Senapati district today held a sit in protest at the Multi-Purpose Hall opposite Mini Secretariat, DC Office, Senapati.Around 240 National Heath Mission employees of Senapati district participated in the sit in.The protesters hold placards which read, "Regularization!!! Why not for us??", "We have cross upper age limit for Government job, Where do we go now?", "We are qualified enough to be regularized", "We deserve to be regularized", "All staffs recruited through DPC only", "Why other Departments not NHM?", etc.
One NHM staff, while speaking to media persons, said that in spite of their sincerity and dedication over eleven years in service, there is no question of regularization of our service till today.However, many other employees under various Central schemes including RMSA, SSA, etc.
who have been appointed recently have already been regularized, she noted.She said that 'Equal Work, Equal Pay' in the Indian Constitution has been ignored till today upon the health workers under National Health Mission.She appealed the State Government to be take the matter seriously and to stop the discriminatory attitude once and for all.It has been reported that there are 60 PHSC, 14 PHC, 2 CHC and one District hospital in Senapati district are National Health Mission workers who are actively conducting their service with full dedication.There are also 40 ASHA facilitators in the National Health Mission.In spite of the full dedication and service for the society, the state Government has blatantly denied regularization of the NHM staff, added worker and added that the NHM staff seeks immediate regularization of their service.The demands of NHM staffs includes rectification of pay anomalies among the staffs with formation of pay implementation committee; preparation of seniority list of staffs, EPF for staff, timely remuneration for staff, distribution of increment in remuneration for the year 2017-18 on proper basis and regularization of service.The protesters also warned that more intense form of agitation including cease work strike will be launched if the State Government fails to consider their demands at the earliest.
