Imphal, July 27 2020:
Though the law enforcing agency and others had seized drugs, alcohol and narcotic items from different parts of the State on numerous occasions, not a single drug lord has been punished accordingly till date, claimed Coalition Against Drugs And Alcohol (CADA) .
A press release issued by CADA's secretary information & publicity, Khundongbam Anand also alleged that arresting some scapegoats involved in trafficking drugs continues to make headlines while drug lords continue to roam free.
He opined that a number of drug traffickers and anti-social elements grow rapidly in the State due to lack of efforts from the Government side.
Stating that Lhukhosei Zou, a former Chairman of the Autonomous District Council, Chandel, from whose possession a huge consignment of drug was seized by the State police in 2018, was granted bail on numerous occasions, he opined that the former ADC, Chairman who is now in judicial custody might be freed again taking advantage of the loopholes in 'our legal system' .
