MTF highlights tourism potential of Manipur

With the arrival of World Tourism Day, which falls on September 27, the Manipur Tourism Foundation has highlighted the tourism potential of Manipur.
A statement issued by R Mohonchandra, secretary, Manipur Tourism Foundation has shared that the first World Tourism Day was observed globally on September 27, 1980 under the auspices of the United Nations Organisation (UNO) .
Stating that there were 334 million international tourists across the globe in 2019, MTF shared that the number is projected to reach 430 million by 2033 .
Taking the example of a small State like Sikkim, whose State Tourism Department is generating a sizeable revenue, MTF maintained that if Manipur's tourism potential is adequately developed, the same can be achieved here.
It added that Manipur can become a small slice of heaven for tourists if the Loktak lake and its surrounding historic sites, which number around 30, are appropriately renovated.
Thus, welcoming the arrival of the World Tourism Day, MTF has stressed on the necessity to develop potential tourist sites in Manipur.
