MANFETE-2012 kicks off

Imphal, March 26 2012: The MANFETE-2012 being organised by Manipur Institute of Management Studies, Manipur University kicked off today at the Centenary Hall of the University.

The Management Festival will continue for three days.

Vice Chancellor in-charge of Manipur University Prof L Tombi and Director of Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS) L Jibon graced the inaugural function as Chief Guest and President respectively.

IGAR (S) Maj Gen UK Gurung, Dean of School of Social Science, MU Prof Amar Yumnam and Dean of Students Welfare, MU Prof Th Ratankumar also attended the function as Guests of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, IGAR (S) Maj Gen UK Gurung said that Assam Rifles has been trying its best to bring normalcy and development in various spheres in the state for the last many years.

HQ IGAR (S) of 9 Sector is extending cooperation in sponsoring the festival under its new Partnership Programme to keep good and healthy relation between students of the North Eastern Region and Assam Rifles.

He also expressed hope that involving in youth activities actively would help in bringing normalcy in the state.

In his Presidential speech, Prof L Tombi observed that MANFETE is a very important annual event of the University where students of the University and other individuals compete in various events.

It also helps in showcasing the talents of the students.

MIMS Director, L Jibon pointed out that apart from students of the University, other individuals can also participate in the festival and compete with the students.

This will help in developing their personality.
