Imphal, October 25 2016: Swachhta Pakhwada (Cleanliness Fortnight) was observed by KVK, Imphal West at the adopted Kiyam village with Mutum Sanahanbi Devi, Member Awangkhunou Zilla Parisad, L Swamikanta Singh, Additional Chief Engineer, PHED and Sanyaola K Raman, Programme Coordinator, KVK Imphal West as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively today.

The guest of honour said that in addition to the recently added 68 sanitary toilets and upgradation of the drinking water supply to the village, an awareness programme on solid waste management will be held, said a statement.

A demonstration on the uses of eco-friendly technology on beehive briquettes was conducted by L Kanya Singh and P Raghumani Singh, president, Kiyam Development Committee.

In her presidential address, the president thanked all the villagers for maintaining the cleanliness of the village and about 120 farmers attended the programme, during which Kh Hera Singh gave the welcome address and Arunkumar Singh delivered the vote of thanks, said the statement.
