District Admin provides financial assistance to hydrocephalus baby

Taking cognizance of a matter circulated on social media posts about a baby with a swollen head from Mata village, the Churachandpur District Administration on August 24 doled out monetary aid to the parents of the baby at the village.
A female baby Hoihcy (name shortened), was born at the District Hospital, Churachandpur on February 25 this year.
When the baby attained one month, her mother Niangngaihkim discovered extreme swelling in the head which is medically termed as Hydrocephalus (low weight premature birth) .
The distraught parents have been running from pillar to posts as their infant struggled with the condition.
The father of the child, Lianmalsawm is a lumberjack.
The District Administration, Churachandpur handed over Rs 20,000 as financial assistance to the parents apart from assuring other benefits like job card, PM Kishan, CMHT etc to them.
Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav; Superintendent of Police Amrita Sinha; ZEO N Chingkhei; SDO CCPur Ginmuan Ngaihte and doctors from the Medical Department went to the couple's rented residence at Mata village and handed over the financial assistance.
DC Yadav assured the mother of issuing a job card, CMHT benefits immediately.
He also assured other logistics support to the parents as the child will undergo surgery at Imphal.
The officials also wished the baby a speedy recovery.
The condition of baby Hoihcy came to light when it was circulated through social media.
