JCILPS to intensify agitation

Imphal, March 25 2015: Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) convener Ibotombi Khuman has once again rejected the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant workers Bill, 2015 (MRVT & MW Bill) as baseless and meaningless bill which has excluded demands of the people.

Ibotombi Khuman said that the Government has challenged the people of the State by sidelining the sole purpose of Inner Line Permit System.

He added that the bill was supposed to save the indigenous people however the details of the bill aim to safeguard only the non-locals.

The JAC will fight for its objective by intensifying the ongoing agitation by holding mass meeting to seek views and opinions of Constitutional experts, scholars, media persons and political parties, he said.
