5th Khundongbam Brojendro Theatre Fest concludes

Imphal, January 24 2020: The 5th Khundongbam Brojendro Theatre Festival 2020, organised by Khundongbam Brojendro Cultural Trust, concluded at JNMDA auditorium today.

Manipur Sahitya Parishad Imphal president IS Kangjam graced the function as the chief guest while retired IAS Dr RK Nimai attended as the functional president and eminent writer and MSKA awardee Chana Lukhoi as the guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, IS Kangjam noted that organising the ten days long festival is a way of promoting theatre artistes.

Renowned artistes and playwright GC Tongbra had written and produced a number of Manipuri plays/dramas while Khundongbam Brojendro had written and produced numerous plays as well.

Such festival cherish the memories of these famous writers and their exceptional work, he added.

Although, Khundongbam Brojendro was always a quiet person, he expressed his perspective and his creativity through his works, which will remain prized possessions for the people of the State, maintained IS Kangjam.

A play titled Refugee was performed by Manipur Theatre Academy (MATA) Manipur as part of the ceremony.
