ICHAM endorse strike, but appeals to relax for X-Mas

While extending support to the ongoing strike against molestation of actress Momoco, Information Centre for Hill Areas, Manipur (ICHAM)has expressed the need to relax the stir for some days keeping in view of the Christmas festival, which is the most important festival of the Christian community all over the globe including Manipur.
Talking to mediapersons today, ICHAM President N Rajendro said that in its executive meeting, ICHAM strongly condemned the molestation and assault of Actress Momoco, Singer Prakash and actor Guna during a musical concert at Chandel.
Even if they were acting provocative, humiliating them by molesting and assaulting is an inhuman act which should be condemned.
Keeping in view of the prevailing tense situation, NSCN-IM should produce its cadre Livingstone before the public and punish him accordingly, he said.On the other hand, the sudden imposition of general strike has caused untold miseries to the Christian people who were getting ready for their greatest festival of Christmas.
In such a situation, there is the need to relax the strike for some days so as to enable the Christians celebrate their festival peacefully, he observed.
At the same time, Rajendro went on, the government should talk with the protestors and try to bring a solution into the matter.
