Imphal, October 22 2019:
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) convened an emergency meeting at Babupara today evening, with strong emphasis on the present situation of Manipur arising out off the Indo-Naga peace talks.
A statement issued by CLP leader Okram Ibobi Singh mentioned that during the meeting, the CLP members appreciated the decades old Indo-Naga peace talks coming to a conclusion.
However, the members wished for the imbroglio to be resolved at the earliest without affecting or hurting the sentiments and interests of the States neighbouring Nagaland.
The CLP members further resolved to steadfastly oppose any move that can cause the disintegration of Manipur, now or in the future, while reaching any kind of settlement with the NSCN (IM) or any other body or organisation.
The meeting also unanimously reiterated and reaffirmed the collective stand of CLP Manipur to protect the territorial, administrative, financial, socio cultural and political integrity of Manipur.
