206 detained for lockdown violation

Imphal, August 22 2020: As many as 206 persons were detained by police at different places of the State and Rs 40,000 was collected as fine for violating lock-down and COVID-19 protocol today.

The detainees were let off after issuing warning to follow COVID-19 protocol.

Further, those who are found violating lockdown will be dealt with legal action under National Disaster Management Act 2005 and other relevant laws, said police.

Notably, the Government extended the lockdown till August 31 .
