Cordon and search operations conducted

Imphal, November 21 2019: Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur district police carried out cordon and house to house search operations in their respective districts today, as a part of the security measures ahead of the coming 10th edition of Manipur Sangai Festival.

A team of Imphal West district commando conducted search operation at Polo-Ground, Aloo Gali area, Paona bazaar.

During the operation, more than 100 individuals were verified and one individual who failed to produce proper identity proof was detained and handed over to City PS for proper verification.

Another team of Imphal West commando conducted a cordon and search operation at Dharmasala, near Gurudwara, and verified the peoples staying in the area as well as passers-by.

During the operation, more than 70 people were verified by the police team.

7 individuals who did not have proper identity proofs were handed over to City PS for verification.

Another team of Imphal West commando conducted a house to house search operation at Lamboi Khongnangkhong area.

More than 50 houses were covered by the police but no one was detained.

Similarly, a team Imphal East district police also conducted house to house search operation at Mahabali Kabui Khul.

More than 60 houses were searched and more than 250 individuals, mostly staying in rent, were verified.

No one was detained during the operation.

Bishnupur district police also conducted cordon and search operation at Keibul Thana Leirak, Mathak Mayum Leirak, Bamon leirak and Heiga leirak today morning.

During the search operations, 6 individuals were detained and handed over Keibul PS for proper verification.
