Imphal, August 21 2021: Session Judge Imphal East has remanded a 36 year old man today for allegedly sexually assaulting his minor step daughter.

The minor was found roaming along Dingko road on August 15 by a team of Imphal Police and was later handed over to Childline Imphal East.

The minor, in her statement to Childline Imphal East, had stated that her step father has been sexually assaulting her since the last 4 months.

Following this a case was registered at Imphal Police Station and the accused was arrested from his residence on August 17 .

The accused was produced before the Session Judge Imphal East today and after hearing the case from both sides, the Session Judge remanded the accused to judicial custody till September 4 .

As per the statement made by the minor victim, her mother despite having knowledge of the incident kept silent and didn't report to the police.

The minor had also claimed that the accused had recorded videos of her in a compromising condition and had also attempted to rape her on various occassions.
