Assam Rifles conducts medical camp / HIV screening session

Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a Medical Camp and HIV Screening Camp at Adullam Drug Rehabilitation Centre at H Munnom village, Moreh yesterday.
The camp was organised by Organisation of Salvation of Man and Dedicated People's Union Moreh in collaboration with Moreh Battalion and was participated by a total of 86 patients attended the medical camp who were educated on the precautions of HIV and the critical withdrawal symptoms associated with it, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The inmates were also provided with free medicines followed by a counselling session.
The Organisation of Salvation of Man is putting continuous efforts to identify HIV positive cases and provide medical assistance.
Till now, they have identified more than 5000 HIV positive cases in Moreh and are under treatment.
The Dedicated peoples' Union has been spreading the message against Drug Abuse and has been working for a drug free Moreh.
Total of 25 staff members of both the NGOs and Moreh Battalion Unit Hospital jointly conducted the medical camp.
Regular efforts are being made by Assam Rifles and such NGOs for treatment of drug addicts, counselling sessions for inmates, skill development of local youth and intense area domination to prevent move of drugs with a larger aim of ensuring Drug Free Moreh, added the statement.
All the participants conveyed their gratitude to all organisations for this noble initiative and spreading a message for the awareness against HIV and drugs, also added the statement.
