LLYC clarifies on lockdown on St Joseph's school

Imphal, January 21 2020:
In view of the lockdown of St Joseph's Higher Secondary School Imphal, ameeting was organised between Lukram Leirak Youth Club (LLYC) and local members and Archbishop Dominic Lumon Archdiocese of Imphal on January 19 .
Executive members of LLYC, members of UDC and Rev Dominic Lumon, Vicar General Rev Fr John attended the meeting among others, said a press release issued by LLYC secretary.
The meeting deliberated on the shutdown of the school by one Nupi Weavers' Welfare Association cum Meira Paibis while stating that the incident has brought disgrace to the people of Lukram Leirak.
It maintained the transfer of St Joseph's Principal Fr Victor is an internal matter of the school authority.
The club assured Archbishop Dominic Lumon that if any organisation under LLYC jurisdiction interferes during school admission, then the organisation concerned will be held responsible of any unwanted incidents.
During the meeting, an MoU was signed between secretary of LLYC and Archbishop Dominic Lumon Archdiocese, added the statement.
Lukram Leirak Youth Club, in a separate statement, has clarified that the club and the local people have nothing to do with the shutting down of St Joseph's school.
It appealed to other organisation/association of the Leikai not to take part in any internal matter in regard to St Joseph's school without informing LLYC and the locals.
