The 17th Annual Fresher's meet cum Literary meet of Tribal Students' Union, DM College of Arts was celebrated today at Tribal Research Centre, Chingmeirong with Home Minister Gaikhangam as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaikhangam said that Manipur is a state inhabited by several ethnic communities.
Every community is trying their best to protect and promote their own identities.
However, in doing so, they should not create any hindrance to the integrity of Manipur.
Gaikhangam pointed out stated that some shrewd politicians and certain CSOs of the state are using the students on certain issues in their own interest.
They are misleading the students.
So it would be more appropriate for students to abstain from such issues and concentrate on their studies to help in building a better society.
Presided over by Associate Prof Chand of DM College of Arts, the function was also attended by Lunmingthang Haokip, Director of Tribal Areas and Hills as Guest of Honour.
