ROB Imphal to organise special Yoga session

As the rest of the world will be observing the 5th International Yoga Day tomorrow, the Central and State Government departments, NGOs, schools and colleges will be conducting special programmes in the State.
Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will be organizing a special Yoga session for school children and the public at St Joseph Higher Secondary School.
The program will also be attended by senior local authorities including Addl Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, Gojendro Ningthoujam.
Over 500 persons are expected to attend the function, aid a statement of PIB.
Earlier, during the week, ROB, Imphal organized a series of events to generate awareness regarding the benefits of Yoga.
Programs were organized at Ibotombi Institute of Education, Imphal on June 14 at Tamenglong ward No 1 and at St Paul School, Liwa Changjing, Chandel district on June 17 at Rikhumai Taphou Women Community Hall and Keithelmanbi Village, Chandel district on June 18 and also at Churachandpur, Chabagan, Tamenglong, Ukhrul and Chedema, Kohima on June 19.These events saw enthusiastic participation of school children, villagers and the public.
Photo exhibitions, film shows and quiz for children were also organized at these events to ensure greater involvement of the participants.
Acknowledging the positive role and responsibility of media in disseminating the outreach of Yoga in India and abroad, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has instituted the First Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman (AYDMS) from this year to mark the contribution of media in spreading the message of Yoga.
