Different activities carried out on World Photography Day

Royal Photography Manipur kicked off a two day photography exhibition cum sale at DM College Commerce ground today.
The event which was held in connection with the observation of World Photography Day was attended by former Commissioner, Art & Culture Dr RK Nimai graced the event as the chief guest while Royal Photography Manipur president as well as program producer, EMRC, Manipur University Jibankumar Thoudam and DM College of Commerce Principal Dr A Nabachandra also attended.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest of the event RK Nimai urged all to extend maximum support and cooperation to make the two day event a grand successfully.

Maintaining that a picture can express a thousand words, he stated numerous photography lovers have emerged who have shown their passion in their works while adding that one can choose photography as a career and become successful if he is passionate and enthusiastic about it .
On the other hand, Manipur Digital Photography Society (MDPS) also organised 2nd photography competition cum exhibition at Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong.
Principal Scientist, KVK Bishnupur as well as Director, PDDUIAS Utlou Dr RK Imotomba, Conservator of Forests L Joykumar and MDPS president Konjengbam Jenendro Singh attended the function as dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a photography workshop for students of Pole Star School, Patsoi today.
The workshop aims to provide a platform to children, to have an insight into the basics of photography and interact directly with renowned professionals in the photography field, said a press release issued by IGAR (S).
The Battalion organized the photography workshop and invited a renowned professional photographer namely Rajesh.
The photographer not only explained and taught the basic nuances of photography but also shared his real life experiences while learning photography.
The photographer covered introduction to photography, its application, basics of camera operations, basic composition, rules including framing and camera angles, it stated.
Rajesh shared his insights on choosing a camera, lighting aspects, controlling shutter speed and exposure and various photographic functions.
Though cautious about handling the cameras, the students had a good time experimenting and then posing with the various cameras.
More than 120 students who underwent the photography workshop were delighted with the whole experience which made them more confident, inspired and motivated, added the statement.
The students expressed their gratitude to the unit for organising the workshop at their school and giving them an opportunity to learn lots about photography.
This initiative of Assam Rifles not only encouraged students to take up photography as a hobby but also motivated them to take it up as a profession, it said.
