Deputy Speaker wants quick aid for Phek accident victims

Imphal, March 19 2015:
Deputy Speaker and Chingai constituency MLA Preshow Shimray has appealed to the State Government on Thursday to extend monetary aid to all victims of Phek bus accident at the earliest.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has assured financial assistance to all victims of the fatal mishap, Preshow told Hueiyen Lanpao and added that he hoped the Government will implement the promise without any delay.
He said that he was worried over the number of casualties in the bus accident.
Most of the victims have been recovered and discharged from RIMS and JNIMS.
Only five of them are undergoing treatment.
The Phek mishap that occurred on March 13 killed 12 people and injured 21 others.
Twelve of them were brought to RIMS and JNIMS here for better treatment on March 15 .
Preshow added that he was really happy that the State Government had sent a medical team to bring back all the victims to the two Government hospitals.
The Deputy Speaker was hopeful that health care system in Ukhrul district's Jessami on Manipur-Nagaland border will be improved considerably if a proper community health centre is set up in the area.
