JCILPS student wing locks NIT Langol

Denouncing the interview today for appointment of 22 faculties of NIT Langol conducted Outside the State at Hotel Gateway, International Airport Gate No 1, VIP Road, Kolkata, student wing of JCILPS has locked the NIT Langol.
Speaking to media persons, convenor of the student wing of JCILPS Manjit Sarangthem said that many organisations, including the student wing, had expressed concern over the venue of the interview.
The Student wing had also written to the Director of NIT Langol to change the venue of the interview on August 16.Central institutions all over India conduct interviews at their own campuses, however, the Director has conducted the interview for appointment of faculties outside the State "near his home" in Kolkata, he said.
The interview is a mockery to the people of the State.
The interview conducted outside the State has deprived deserving but poor candidates of the State.
NIT Langol is in Manipur and it deserves candidates who are familiar with the soil.
The conduction of the interview outside the State has revealed "hidden agendas" and "possible misconduct", he said.
The interview should be declared null and void.
Fresh interview must be conducted at Imphal, he asserted and cautioned authorities concerned that the student wing will launch more stringent agitation if they are not heard.
The authorities went ahead with the interview despite opposition from many organisation.
Today was the first phase of the interview and the interview will continue tomorrow (August 19) .
