Housewife found dead hanging, family smells foul play

Imphal, July 18 2014 :
A housewife was found dead hanging from a tree (Yongchak) measuring only 6 feet in height at Moirang Leishangbam Leikai under Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district at around 10.30 pm on July 17 .
The deceased housewife has been identified as Naorem (N) Mairenbam (O) Sanaleima (32) alias Jona w/o M Suresh (37) of Moirangbam Leishangbam Leikai.
She was rushed to Moirang Community Health Centre for treatment.
Later, she was shifted to RIMS Hospital but declared brought death.
Reports said Sanaleima along her husband had come out together to have pan at a shop in the locality after having dinner.
After she was found absent in the house despite late in the night, family members started looking for her.
While searching, she was found hanging dead from the tree bean growing at the right side of the house.
According to family members of the deceased, who suspect foul play, there were strangulation marks around the neck of the dead body as well as other wounds on her face and chest.
Moreover, the news of the death was passed on only today midnight.
Moirang police have pulled up Suresh for interrogation in connection with the case later today.
Meanwhile, a JAC has been formed.
A memorandum will be submitted to Chief Minister, Home Minister and DGP tomorrow to seek their intervention for doing justice to the deceased.
The JAC and family members have pledged not to accept the dead body of the deceased until the concerned authority ascertains the exact cause of the death.
Sanaleima was the lone daughter of Naorem Nageshwar of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai and is survived by her 8 years old daughter and
5 years old son.
