PDS rice lifted for distribution

Imphal, April 18 2020: To ensure that the people of the State are provided PDS items especially rice, the State Government continued lifting of rice allocated for public distribution in certain Assembly Constituencies of the State today.

The allocated quota for Oinam AC in Bishnupur district was completely lifted today from Sangaiprou/Koirengei godown.

The lifted rice includes 1536.1 quintal under PMGKAY and 420.25 quintal for OMSS.

For Nungba AC in Tamenglong district, 25 quintal of rice for OMSS was lifted from FCI, Sangaiprou while, 435 quintal of rice for OMSS for Jiribam AC was also lifted from FCI godown, Jiribam.

A total of 1768.70 quintal of rice for Tadubi AC in Senapati district was lifted today which includes 1371.20 quintal under PMGKAY and 397.50 quintal for OMSS.

In Thoubal district, 472 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted and 20 quintal of rice was sold to 216 beneficiaries under OMSS at Thoubal Mela ground today.

In respect of Kakching district, 1409.50 quintal of rice (PHH-1332.55 and AAY-76.95) under PMGKAY and 724.05 quintal of OMSS rice for Sugnu AC were lifted today.

25 quintal of rice was sold under OMSS in Pherzawl district today.

In Imphal East district, 3137.46 quintal of rice for OMSS was lifted today for the Assembly Constituencies of Khundrakpam-653.10 quintal, Heingang-632.76 quintal, Thongju-693.90 quintal, Keirao-733.35 quintal and Lamlai-424.35 quintal.

Another 1370.80 quintal of rice under PMGKAY for Wangkhei AC was also lifted today.

For Lamlai AC and Wangkhei AC in Imphal East district, 342.70 quintal and 889.50 quintal of rice under PMGKAY were lifted on 17.04.2020 .

For Chingai AC of Ukhrul district 869.10 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted on 17.04.2020 from FCI godown, Somsai, Ukhrul.

The State Government has been distributing PDS items under NFSA, PMGKAY and OMSS to every household in all the districts of Manipur to ensure none suffer on account of non-availability of foodgrain during lockdown.
