BJP to strike against corruption, says Chaoba

Immediately after being declared as the unopposed President of BJP, Manipur State Unit today, Thounajam Chaoba has vowed to take up various agitations against corruption in consultations with experts.
Chaoba was declared as the new President of BJP, Manipur State Unit at it office at Nityaipat Chuthek by P Chandra Shekhar Rao, Zonal Organisation Secretary, BJP, North East in-charge, today.
Speaking to media persons soon after assuming the charge of President, Chaoba stated that corruption has taken deep roots in the state and its rate has increased manifold in recent years.
As a result, the common people are suffering like never before.
Considering the deep rooted impacts of corruption in the society and the need to stop this menace, BJP will be launching various agitations, Chaoba informed.
He maintained that the Congress led Government in the state has at least come up clean while recruiting teachers in Government run educational institutions.
This trend should also be seen while recruiting security forces by the Home Department.
It is because of high corruption in the recruitment process of security forces that the people of the state are suffering like hell today.
P Chandra Shekhar Rao, Zonal Organisation Secretary, BJP, North East in-charge, who was also present on the occasion, stated that though there are a number of issues that need to be discussed at length, the State Assembly which is due to commence from December19 is to be carried out for two days only.
He also stated that the State Human Rights Commission has been left defunct for quite a long time and as a result State Government has failed to safeguard the rights of its citizens.
The State Government needs to clarify as to why MHRC has made defunct despite the fact that number of human rights violation cases are being witnessed in the State.
Taking up the issue of Loktak Lake scam, he also alleged that Chief Minister O Ibobi is involved in it.
