Imphal, July 17 2024: Following an agreement with the Health Minister, the All Manipur ASHA Workers Union has suspended its proposed agitation that was earlier slated to begin from July 18 .

Addressing a press meet today at Manipur Press Club, All Manipur ASHA Workers Union general secretary Paonam Asharani highlighted the long pending demands of the union such as increasing the honorarium of ASHAs and recognising the workers as Government employees.

She stated that a meeting was held today between members of the Union and Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan.

Asharani asserted that the decision to suspend the stir was taken after an understanding was reached between the Union and the Minister.
