Imphal, July 17 2015 :
NSCN (K) Zeliangrong Region and its strength are still intact and that people of the region should not fall prey to the growing rumours that the outfit has been decimated, claims chairman of the group Aimson Dangmei on Friday.
Talking to a section of media persons somewhere in Tamenglog district, the chairman of NSCN (K) Zeliangrong Region said the outfit has been relentlessly exerting efforts to build up a common platform for all underground groups in the Northeast.
He rubbished the rumours spreading from several quarters that the outfit's Zeliangrong Region no longer exists.
He said such reactionary propaganda is totally unfounded.
"It's still unscathed.
People should not believe the rumours intended to harm the group," Dangmei appealed.
National Socialist Council of Nagaland led by SS Khaplang or NSCN (K) walked out of the cease-fire agreement with the Government of India in March this year.
Ever since the unilateral abrogation of the ceasefire agreement, the outfit has launched a series of attacks on the security forces in the Northeast.
A combined team of NSCN (K), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and Communist Party of Kangleipak (KCP) killed 18 soldiers of Indian Army in a deadly attack in Chandel district
on June 4 .
Dangmei further vowed to put forward the movement headed by Chairman SS Khaplang and work for the people in line with his fight for sovereignty.
He asserted that NSCN (K) stands not only for the Nagas, but the outfit has also been struggling hard to unite the people of the Northeast together besides building up a common platform of all underground outfits of the region.
The NSCN (K) leader said that no organization or individual should disrupt the group in its activities meant for the society and warned of stern action against individuals or groups going against it.
Dangmei announced that Gaidinngam Kamei has been appointed as information and publicity secretary for the NSCN (K) Zeliangrong Region.
