Chandel, January 17 2020: 22 year-old Shanghman Tongsin Anal was crowned Miss Chakpi 2020 at the 2nd edition of Miss Chakpi Pageant 2020 held on January 15 at the Indoor stadium, Japhou bazaar in Chandel district.

Former Miss Chakpi 2018 Leivon Ringjoy Lamkang crowned her successor Shanghman Tongsin Anal.

The beauty contest was organised by Miss Chakpi Committee with a "mission to crown a queen who will represent the beauty of Chakpi river and to protect and safeguard the riverine eco-system of the only river which is the lifeline of Chandel district" .

The new Miss Chakpi, Shanghman Tongsin, a resident of Japhou Bazar, Chandel district, who also bagged Miss Graceful Walk title, went home richer with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 with citation while the first and second runner up title holders- Lina Dilbung and Shangrina Nula were awarded cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively along with citation.

Shanghman Tongsin is a 4th Semester MA English student at St Mira's Girls' College, Pune.

15 participants competed for the title in the pageant.

Sub-title winners
Lina Dilbung -Miss Congeniality, Markila Hrangbung - Miss Beautiful hair, Jamjuri Seltun - Miss Beautiful Skin and Hringningam Hrangbung - Miss Talented.

The night long beauty contest was scrutinized by a panel of 3 judges including Assistant Consular Officer, High Commission of India, Nairobi Kenya Shongsheir Agustine, Miss ALT 2002 and Miss Orange Queen 2007 Lk Nitha Anal.
