IGNTU-RCM hosts National seminar

A one day National Seminar on Development Discourse: Political and Economic Perspectives in North East India organised by Department of Political Science and Human Rights, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU-RCM) concluded at the university's Library Hall at Makhan village, Kangokpi district today.
The seminar was sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, said a statement of Dr H Shukhdeba Sharma, Head of Department of Social Work IGN Tribal University, Regional Campus, Manipur.

Dr Sohiamlung Dangmei, Head, Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology; IGNTU-RCM, delivering the key note address said that the university is not only a place of higher learning but also a place for convergence of various disciplines which aims to address various issues facing the country.
Speaking at the event as chief guest, DIG HT Gangte said that contributions of the academicians are very important for strengthening Government's policy.
Dr Ng Ngalengnam, Director of IGNTU-RCM the need for studying and examining the political and economic perspectives in the region for development.
Skill development centres are must to engage youth in development processes, he said.
Dr N Surjitkumar, Head, Department of Tribal Studies, IGNTU-RCM; Dr Sanjoy Das, Head of Department of Computer Science, IGNTU-RCM, Dr Homen Thangjam; Dr George Haokip, Assistant Professor of Department of Political Science and Human Rights; Dr H Shukhdeba Sharma, Head, Department of Social Work, IGNTU-RCM; Dr N Surjitkumar; Dr Immanuel Varte of Department of Tribal Studies, IGNTU- RCM and Moses Maguipuinamei, Assistant Librarian, IGNTU-RCM attended the event.
Scholars - Hoishing Koren, Manglien Gangte, Thangmeingam Awungshi and Lolee Goodday Kriibve Mao presented papers, said the statement.
