About 20 persons injured

Imphal, November 15 2010:
Two persons-a 35-year old housewife and 15-year old youth died while 20 others were injured in two separate motor-vehicle related accidents which occurred today.
The 35 year old woman died in an accident which occurred in front of the Hotel Excellency along the Tiddim road this afternoon around 2.15 pm while the other incident in which a man died while injuring 20 others occurred at Maharabi along NH-39 when a passenger bus met with an accident in the morning around 8 am.
The dead woman in the Tiddim road accident was identified as Shamurailatpam Sumila (35) wife of Bobby of Ngaikhong Khunou, Bishnupur.
A passenger bus hit the back of the motorcycle, on which she with her husband and their son were riding.
The bike rolled over her as she fell down on the road.
She succumbed to her injury on the spot while her husband and son escaped unhurt.
The couple with their child was coming back after consulting a doctor at RIMS for an ailment.
The bus bearing registration no.MN05-1294, packed with passengers was heading towards Churachandpur.
The bus which escaped from the accident site later surrendered to the police at Khwakeithel outpost.
Imphal police has registered a case.
In the other accident that claimed the life of 15-year old youth and injured 20 passengers occurred at Maharabi along NH-39 under Sekmai police station this morning at about 8 am when a bus (MN02-6848) they were travelling in turned turtle after the left front main spring was broken.
All the injured persons including women and children were admitted at the Koirengei Catholic Hospital.
The deceased youth was identified as Khemraj Adhikari son of Girija Adhikari of Barpate village, Kangpokpi.
