Imphal, March 15 2018: Ngaikhong Khunau Battalion of Loktak Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division as part of Military Civic Action constructed a toilet block and donated to L Gelmol village on March 13.This project was undertaken as 'Elimination of Defecation in Open' venture part of "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan", informed a press release issued by PIB Defence Wing.

The new facility was handed over to the village chief in the presence of the villagers.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by village chief and locals.

The company Commander of Leimatak COB conveyed that the Battalion is deeply committed towards the progress of the remote village and that the new facility is a testimony to Battalion's commitment towards social upliftment and development of basic infrastructure.

The villagers appreciated the continued efforts of Army and conveyed their whole hearted support to the organization.

They also expressed their gratitude to the N Khunou Battalion, said the release.
