Imphal, August 14 2020: Thoubal district Superintendent of Police Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha Singh is among three cops who have been selected for the Chief Minister's Trophy for Anti-drug Campaign.

Thoubal SP Dr S Ibomcha, Jiribam Police ASIA Krishna Sharma and NAB Head Constable M Rinash Meitei will be awarded the trophy on Independence Day celebration tomorrow at 1 st MR Ground.

They have been selected for the award for their dedicated efforts and success in the war against drug.

It may be noted that SP S Ibomcha had last year busted 2 brown sugar labs at Moijing Awang Leikai and Sada Khumbi village and seized more than 205 kilograms of brown sugar.

Above this, 40 lakh number of WY tablets worth Rs 400 crore were also seized in one of the largest drug busts in the North-East.

He had also led the dismantling of illegal foreign liquor factories at Thoubal Athokpam and arrested many.

On the other hand, Chief Minister's Trophy for Community Service will be awarded to Bishnupur district SP Priyadarshini Laishram, Thoubal Police Inspector, Oinam Ajit Singh and Thoubal district Women Police Constable Okram Bijeta Devi.
