CCpur, April 14 2020:
The foot and mouth disease which has affected many cattles in Churachandpur claimed one more calf yesterday.
Dr Lalnghaklien Hriller, Joint Director at the district Veterinary office said a team from the department visited several villages located on the eastern flank of the town yesterday and established that about two third of the cattles there are affected by the disease.
The officials have treated many of the affected cattle and collected blood and tissue samples to conduct further test at DI Lab, Sanjenthong, Imphal, he added.
Following the outbreak of the disease many cattle rearers are in distress.
