Three of the five Amur Falcons, which were tagged with satellite radio transmitters by the State Forest Department and Wildlife Institute of India, have started sending back signals.
According to a source from the WII, the five birds were all tagged with the satellite radio transmitters on October 31 and November 1 in an attempt to study their migratory routes.
The tagged birds (three females and two males) were named Barak, Irang, Puching, Phalong and Chiyulon before they were set free by the scientists, the source mentioned, adding that as per the signals received, Barak and Irang are still in Puching village area while Chiyulon is near Chiyulon village area.
However, signals are yet to be received from the birds Puching and Phalong, the source mentioned, expressing belief that their signals will start showing up soon.
