Imphal, April 13 2015 :
Urging for prompt fulfilment of their charter of demands, ATSUM has categorically stated that the same demands should be fulfilled within two months else all National projects would be banned apart from blocking all major roads.
Speaking to media persons at their Nagaram office today, ATSUM president Muan Tombing said that they submitted an ultimatum to Chief Minister O Ibobi today.
He said that all kinds of intense agitation would be launched if their charter of demands are not fulfilled by June 14 .
Establishment of Scheduled Tribe Commission, service regularization of contract teachers, full empowerment of Education (S) Additional Director (Hills) and safeguarding tribal quota at the time of appointment in Manipur Legislative Assembly are some of the demands listed in the charter.
Land records of hill districts presently stored in valley districts should be transferred to their respective districts and special recruitment drive should be conducted in JNIMS, Muan Tombing said.

ATSUM and the State Government have talked thrice on the charter of demands and the Government assured to translate the demands into action.
However, the Government failed to keep its own assurance repeatedly forcing ATSUM to launch protest agitation on three occasions in June 2013, November 2013 and October 2014 .
The lattest meeting between the State Government and ATSUM was held at the Chief Minister's office in October 2014 and the CM promised to fulfil the demands in front of Cabinet Ministers and top ranking officials of different departments as a new year (2015) gift.
But it appears that the new year is yet to arrive for the State Government or the State Government is intending to marginalise tribal people, Muan Tombing said.
ATSUM has been raising the charter of demands with the primary objective of bringing some sort of equilibrium between the hills and valley, Muan Tombing said.
He then appealed to all the people to support ATSUM's proposed agitation.
