Polio immunization campaigns

As part of Nationwide polio immunization campaign, Singngat Battalion Assam Rifles conducted a massive drive for eradication of Poliomyelitis (Polio) virus at Singngat and Aina Battalion at Aina, Leizangphai, Thanlon, Kangkap and Sinjol on March 1l, informed a press release issued by PIB Defence Wing.
The unit medical team established a booth and administered the vaccineto children up to the age of 5 years with an aim to achieve 100 percent immunization.
The local populace displayed enthusiasm and active participation contributing towards the objective of a polio free Nation, it added.
87 Bn CRPF stationed at Jiribam also conducted a pulse polio immunization programme (2nd phase) from March 11 to 12 in coordination with District Hospital, Jiribam.
Unit personnel under the guidance and supervision of Sunil Kumar, Commandant along with Dr Ng Bembem Devi and Dr Anil Prasad of District Hospital Jiribam, Dr M Kamei, GDMO/87 Bn CRPF, Ch Tomba Singh, Assistant Commandant, Kh Chandrika Devi, Supervisor ICDS and staff from the hospital and Anganwadi workers.
