Imphal, May 12 2020: Imphal West Students' Club (IWSC) in association with Veterinary Hospital, Khumbong conducted a vaccination programme for cattles at two different locations of the club today.

A Samarendra, secretary IWSC said that the vaccination was for saving the lives of cattle from diseases such as haemorrhagic septicaemia and black quarter.

Around 110 cattle including calves were vaccinated during the programme.

IWSC took this initiative during this lockdown period in view of reported spread and deaths of cattle from these diseases in neighbouring villages, it informed.

It may be mentioned that similar vaccination programme was conducted on March 7 for Food and Mouth Diseases (FMD) at the same venue.

IWSC thanked and appreciated the authority and staff of Veterinary hospital, Khumbong for vaccinating the cattle in time.
