Scribes' sports meet

The 3rd Journalists' sports Meet, organised by All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) formally concluded today at Manipur Press Club with the presentation of prizes to individual and team event winners.
The solemn prize distribution programme was held with Deputy Secretary of State's Youth Affairs and sports K Shyamsunder and AMWJU president A Mobi as the chief guest and functional president respectively.
Expressing confidence that organising sports meet for the media persons would certainly ring out positive message that would eventually be beneficial for the society, the chief guest, in his brief address, suggested that the scribes' body strive to transform the sports meet to a more grander event in the coming years.
Suggesting that AMWJU prepare a proposal for assistance from the department concerned, the Deputy Director assured his personal endeavour to make future sports meet of the journalist community a more successful and attractive one.
Speaking at the occasion, A Mobi conveyed that main objective of organising sports meet for the journalists is to imbibe discipline and promote moral value.
the sports meet, apart from being a recreational component, would also serve as a platform for the scribes to exhibit their talents in games and sports activities, said the functional president.
Mention may be made that the Sangai Express emerged as the best team of the sports, claiming a total of 13 medals, including seven gold and four silver medals, in both individual and team competitions.
